Welcome to Milfield Holiday Cottages - where you have a choice of two beautifully appointed holiday cottages, booking direct with the owner.
Overnight stays continue to be banned but the PM has announced today (22nd Feb) that self-catering lets for family groups (one household only) may open on 12th April at the earliest.
It will not be until a review in June that full opening will be allowed (mixed household groups).
Accordingly, we have released dates for online booking for April and May.
Covid 19 cancellation: We have varied our normal terms and conditions whilst the pandemic measures are in place. Where we cannot provide accommodation due to national or local restrictions, any monies paid for your holiday will be refunded. That is also the case where due to a local lockdown in your home region you are no longer allowed to travel. This variation does not apply to self-isolation or disinclination to travel.

To allow for thorough sanitation between lets we have changed the arrival time to 4pm - just to provide a bit more time for cleansing. Additionally, for maximum safety, we have arranged for professional cleaning from a nationwide company, but regrettably have had to add a small additional charge to assist in payment for this peace of mind.
In line with current recommendations all cushions are removed/replaced after each letting and allowed to 'rest' for over 72 hours as are the bed throws and, of course, the mattress and pillow protectors are freshly laundered.
We've two thoughtfully converted stone buildings available, The Old Stable and The Old Workshop.
The Old Stable
The Old Workshop
Each have the amenities you'd expect and are let inclusive of linen, towels and fuel. In other words there are no 'extras'.
The holiday cottages are located in the Northumberland countryside, 20 minutes from the coast and 10 minutes from the Cheviot Hills - an ideal place from which to explore this fantastic part of the UK.
What's more we are only 9 miles from the border with Scotland - so it's easy to visit the sights of the Borders and, of course, Edinburgh.
There's so much to do, from visiting the many well preserved castles, including the Harry Potter venue at Alnwick, to carefree walks along quiet sandy beaches or in the rounded hills of Northumberland's National Park (about three miles from the cottage). So, if you're looking for a Northumberland self catering holiday cottage - give us a call.
We offer weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday and in less busy periods short breaks may also be available.
Have a look around this website and book early to avoid disappointment.
